We’re not sure; we’d have to consult an anthropologist or two to find out, but we know how to supply you with all three of these things in our selection of the finest Halloween comics that are sure to get you in the mood for the holiday.

Barbara Gordon, Captain James Gordon’s daughter, is abducted by the Mad Hatter and made to drink tea with other kidnapped children in “Madness.” In the end, Batman and Gordon rescue Barbara and defeat the Mad Hatter.

“Ghosts” is a Batman-verse version of A Christmas Carol, featuring Poison Ivy (the Ghost of Christmas Past), the Joker (the Ghost of Christmas Present), and a Grim Reaper (the Ghost of Christmas to Come) who turns out to be Batman’s ghost.

The ghosts’ warning to Bruce is that he should not allow Batman to take over his whole existence.

Tomie is a manga that focuses on the main character, Tomie, in the style of an episodic series. Tomie is dismembered and chopped into pieces by the men she has bewitched on a regular basis; she then regenerates from various parts of her body or bodily fluids and seeks vengeance, as well as to remove her duplicates.

The lives of a young inmate obsessed with a conspiracy hidden in the city’s garbage and a Catholic priest transferred to a small town full of dark secrets are intertwined around the mysterious legend of The Black Barn, a building from another world that allegedly appeared in both the city and the small town throughout history, bringing death and madness with it.

Kaori and her pals spend their holiday in Okinawa at Tadashi’s uncle’s home, which is also where her fiancé lives. They return to the chalet in the evening two days before their vacation ends and are greeted with a terrible stench. A monster suddenly brushes by Aki, Kaori’s buddy.

Kaori manages to squash the monster between a piece of furniture and the wall by reacting fast. It’s a fish with dry-land-walking legs that smells rotten and preys on people.

The girls believe they’re done with this tale now that they’ve thrown it away, but the following morning they’re attacked by a shark in the same condition as the fish from the day before. This is the beginning of a monster assault against humans.

Anyone who becomes a victim of these fish evolves into a hideous monster with the same odor. The fish gradually infiltrate Japan’s interior from the shore.

The Long Halloween of Batman

June. Bruce Wayne unwillingly attends the wedding of Johny Viti, the nephew of Carmine Falcone, the despotic godfather of Gotham City’s underworld, nicknamed as “the Roman.” At nighttime, the masked hero Batman surprises Catwoman, who is breaking into the safe of an Italian mafioso.

The bat signal, lighted by Police Captain James Gordon, lights up the Gotham sky as the burglar vanishes into the city’s dark recesses.

On the top of the police station, Batman, Gordon, and the young city attorney, Harvey Dent, strike a deal to combine their resources in order to permanently depose the mafia’s reign of terror over their city, with the sole stipulation that they obey the law.

Today is Halloween. The Roman’s nephew is killed with two gunshots in the head after returning from his honeymoon in Italy. This is the first in a series of killings carried out by the enigmatic serial killer “Holiday,” who is known for striking on national holidays.

Man Who Serves Ice Cream

As if it were under the influence of a curse, this shape is becoming increasingly prevalent in the tiny town.

The Doom That Came to Gotham (Batman: The Doom That Came to Gotham)

This Elseworlds comic book, inspired by H.P. Lovecraft’s writings, portrays Batman as an adventurer akin to the heroes of pulp books and tales from the 1920s. Batman must battle a slew of Lovecraft-inspired creatures linked to his infamous Rogues Gallery.

The Hunger of Jughead

In Riverdale, a serial murderer is on the loose, and Jughead Jones learns that he is not only the killer, but also a werewolf. Betty Cooper, a descendant of a long line of covert werewolf hunters, is persuaded by Archie Andrews to use Wolfsbane to inhibit Jughead’s Transfiguration rather than murdering him directly.

Archie and Betty find Reggie Mantle’s corpse months later and set out to find Jughead, who is on the run. They have the Cooper hunting clan’s backing, led by Elena, Betty’s aunt. Reggie, now a werewolf, turns and gathers other Riverdale residents to get vengeance on Jughead.

Marvel Zombies is a sequel to Marvel Zombies.

The tale is based on a crossover that first appeared in the pages of Ultimate Fantastic Four: Mister Fantastic is transported to a parallel reality where the world’s most powerful heroes have turned into zombies. Now that the apocalypse has started, all of the superheroes have been infected and are completely consumed by a need for human flesh, which is capable of driving them insane in its absence. Because they are already dead, they are much more difficult to pull down. They can only be killed if their brains are taken away.

A filling meal only offers them a brief moment of clarity before hunger strikes again. Heroes like as Luke Cage, Iron Man, Spider-Man, and Wolverine have therefore become soulless, greedy creatures.

They are fought by a tiny number of heroes who have survived the infection, headed by Magneto, who are fighting to stop the lunacy of people who were once his friends and foes, as well as the spread of the virus to other worlds.

The Duke of Clarence, Queen Victoria’s grandson, has a love connection with Annie Crook, a saleswoman from London’s East End, under a fake name in Victorian England. Their connection culminates in a covert Catholic marriage and the birth of a kid.

After undergoing a medical procedure that caused her to lose part of her mental abilities, Queen Victoria puts a stop to it: the Duke is expelled from the city, and Annie Crook is sent to a lunatic hospital.

Unfortunately, Annie’s pals and a small number of prostitutes attempt to take advantage of the situation to get the money required of them by a local gang of racketeers.

When Queen Victoria became aware of this effort at extortion, she ordered the royal doctor, Sir William Gull, to have these individuals silenced in order to keep the monarchy of England free of any controversy.
