It seems like an eternity since Warner Bros. released the trailer for the upcoming spy thriller Tenet. In less than a week it will finally happen: The film is coming to the cinema. Nothing, not even the dreaded KOVID-19 pandemic, could stop director Christopher Nolan from bringing his vision to the big screen. Against all odds, Tenet stayed the course and managed to get an August release date! This is very exciting news for snobs and moviegoers around the world. For the rest of you wondering what all this hype means, I’ll tell you why Tenet is going to be one of the best films of this year. Tenet has become something of a collective mystery to solve because the film is so mysterious. Its advocates have done a fantastic job of representing our interests without telling us too much.

If you haven’t had a chance to see one yet, I highly recommend you see one before you come back here. For everyone else, we give you an overview of everything you need to know before you consult Tenet.

This is a Christopher Nolan movie.

Filmmaker Christopher Nolan has emerged as one of the greatest filmmakers of the 21st century for decades. Created at the beginning of the 20th century. The work of this visionary was characterized by various themes. Films like Inception, Semento and Insomnia are dedicated to spying on the weaknesses of the human mind. Each volume in his Dark Knight trilogy revolves around the idea of the power of ideas and symbols in society. Interstellar, The Prestige and Inception explore high-level science fiction ideas with amazing depth and precision. The three films also evoke humanity’s pride in technological innovation. Nolan’s most experimental film is undoubtedly Dunkirk 2017. A historical war film that breaks with the storytelling tradition of heroic tales. Rather, it is about the insignificance of human life in the face of death.

As eclectic as Nolan’s films are, they all have one theme in common: time. From his contemporary Batman films to his science fiction family dramas, time plays a crucial role in each of them. Dunkirk also plays with the concept of the same event taking place in three different eras and the fact that different people experience the passage of time differently. Interstellar and Inception both deal with the horror of temporal fluidity. I could talk about it all day, but it’s all about timing. Right, and why is this long-term issue so important to understand Tenet? Simply put, I expect Nolan’s Tenet to be the final, if not climactic, expression of this theme. A great final chapter to close, at least for his recreational saga.

Tenet’s plot essentially revolves around a group of secret agents from an organization called Tenet who travel the world in an attempt to prevent World War III. That’s all Warner Bros. wants to share in an official statement. The rest is up to you, and the boys are his followers, vague as hell. At first glance, it looks like it was edited by someone playing with the forward and reverse keys. Those with a keen eye may have concluded that some manipulation of time is in order.

This was confirmed in Tenet’s third trailer, in which the character mentions the idea of time inversion. We looked at possible theories of how this time reversal would happen in the film. I highly recommend reading it if you want more information. Another interesting clue as to why Tenet will be Nolan’s opus is the tagline Time Runs Out. Is it just a marketing stunt or a statement that the director has finally brought the period theme to its natural conclusion? We’ll know soon enough.

Casting and production

While the plot and characters of the film are being kept secret, we do have some interesting details about the actors and behind the scenes of the film’s production. Let’s start with the most prominent members of the cast. BlacKkKlansman actor John David Washington will star in the film. At this stage we don’t know the name of his character yet, and he’s just called the main character. Here’s a fun fact: John’s father is none other than the legendary Denzel Washington. Tenet will be David Washington’s first starring role in a major blockbuster. We certainly have high hopes for this man. Another rising star of Tenet is the actor of Lighthouse, Robert Pattinson. As DC’s protagonist, we don’t know much about him except that he is also an agent of the organization Tenet.

Other well-known Tenet actors include Aaron Taylor-Johnson, who played Quicksilver in Avengers : Age of Ultron and The Dark Knight Michael Caine. Taylor-Johnson did not appear in the film’s marketing materials, so we will have to wait to find out what role he will play in the film. Kane has been in many Nolan films. His most famous role is undoubtedly that of Batman Alfred’s butler in the Dark Knight trilogy. The British actor only makes a brief appearance in the trailer, and not much is known about his character either. Actress Clemens Posey will play a certain scientist in Tenet, and Elizabeth Debicki from Peter Rabbit will play the unspecified lead in the film.

The production was as interesting as the casting choices in the film itself. Much has been said about Nolan’s skills as a technical writer. Some of the most breathtaking scenes in his films were made with great practicality. Remember that great scene in Inception? There was almost no CGI used on the set. It seems that Tenet uses less special effects than most romantic comedy films. This means that most of the ambitious action scenes we’ve seen in the movie trailers so far will have a practical effect. The man even bought a real Boeing 747 to crash on the set! We are of course curious to see what daring deeds Tenet has in store for us.

Armed with all the facts and details, you are now ready to see Christopher Nolan’s Tenet here in theaters after its release. In a few days we will finally know the truth about the film. Let us know what you think of the film in the comments below and stay tuned for more news and a review of Tenet!
