Shana M. O’Hara (Scarlett) is a popular character actress. She is best known for her portrayal of Alice Drayton in the hit TV series “Gilmore Girls”. She also appeared in films such as “The Fourth Kind”, “The Final Girls”, “Burying the Ex”, “Boys in the Hood”, “Liar Liar”, “The Inbetweeners 2”, and “Lambs”. Some of her upcoming projects include the science fiction film “New Horizons”, the action thriller “The Shallow End”, and the horror film “Knock Knock”.

I’m Shana. I am a hardcore movie-lover. I’m not a big fan of ‘movie blogs’ however, I do like to write about movies, especially those that are not mainstream.

Another popular character that appears in Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins is Scarlett, who is played by Samara Weaving. Since his character has always been romantically involved in Snake Eyes, it’s likely that we’ll finally see his story on screen after his romance in G.I. Joe was completely ignored: Cobra Rising. Scarlett plays Rachel Nichols, in a version that sees her as a totally emotionless genius, who graduated from high school at 12 and whose intelligence has led her to a position as an intelligence expert on the team. She is also one of the people killed behind the scenes in the beginning of G.I. Joe: Retribution is a waste of time. Let’s hope the writers do Scarlett justice this time… and we get an early look at the original.

Shana O’Hara was born in Atlanta, Georgia, into a family committed to war and struggle: Her father and three older brothers were martial arts instructors with whom she trained from an early age, and at fifteen she earned her first black belt. She graduated from law school, but that was just the beginning: After her first higher education she went into military service, where she successfully completed all kinds of special training. She attended advanced infantry training at the Ranger School, then transferred to Quantico for sniper training, then to Langley at the school for covert operations; she attended a Taekwondo symposium in RK, participated in the SASR exchange, and finally served on the battlefield in Vietnam, where she distinguished herself as an experienced combatant and a formidable counterintelligence officer. With that resume, Shana was easily one of the best of the best, and so she was invited to join the newly formed G.I. Joe team, a special unit created for the sole purpose of protecting the world from Cobra, an international terrorist organization that threatened every free country on the planet. Shana, code-named Scarlett, joined the first version of the team and her first task was to train the new recruits in hand-to-hand combat, which she did easily and constantly surprised the recruits, who, given her looks, did not expect her to be such a gifted martial artist. Some recruits were better than others, but Scarlett never found one that could really surprise her….. until she met Snake Eyes, a new recruit like no other. Although she easily defeated the others in the first demonstration, she found Snake Eyes to be an excellent fighter and allowed him to win so she could maintain her authority over the other recruits. For the first time in her life, Scarlett was intrigued.

Scarlett and Snake-eye had become very close during training, and when she was tasked with freeing an important hostage, George Strowhacker, she wanted him on her team….. The case is made easier by the fact that Strowhacker would have been Snake Eyes’ brother-in-law had his twin sister not been killed before the wedding. Accompanied by Snake Eyes, Rock ‘n’ Roll and Grunt, Scarlett saved a man from Cobra, but the team’s helicopter was hit on their escape route and the soldiers had to flee….. Unfortunately, Scarlett was trapped in the burning helicopter. While Rock and Primer jump to safety in on Scarlett’s orders, Snake Eyes stays behind and tries to do what he can to save them: He was successful, but suffered severe burns and injuries in the accident. Back on base, Scarlett eventually fully recovers from her injuries, but Snake Eyes remains disfigured and, more importantly, mute – his vocal cords damaged beyond repair. This episode brings the two warriors even closer together and they become lovers, inseparable on and off the battlefield. Scarlett had even helped Snake Eye convince Colonel Hawk not to fire him, even if it meant giving up the full pension that awaited him if he resigned: It would have been an understandable decision, considering the damage he had done, but Snake-eye wanted to stay with the team, because all he had in the world now was Scarlett herself. Hawke noticed their interaction and tasked them with their first mission after his recovery, another rescue mission: The world’s top nuclear physicist, Adele Burkhart, had been kidnapped by Cobra and was being held by Cobra Commander himself in one of his hideouts in the Caribbean islands. Operation: Lady Doomsday succeeded, the duo managed to save the injured but still alive scientist, and even nearly had the Cobra Commander captured. Apparently Scarlett and Snake Eyes, the best of the best, have found someone to push them to be even better.

Shana O’Hara is a very intelligent, serious and determined woman who, despite her many commitments, approaches life with a good dose of humor. As Scarlett, she is a highly experienced counterintelligence officer who is the only one on the G.I. Joe team to receive hidden missions and information from the rest of the Joes. She is an excellent martial artist, mastering multiple disciplines and techniques, and an excellent marksman, using the XK-1 crossbow as her weapon, but also expert in the use of pistols, shotguns, sniper rifles, shotguns, grenade launchers, combat knives, and even traditional weapons like shuriken and garotts. Scarlett is a formidable warrior, charismatic leader and tough trainer. She’s a living legend even among the G.I. Joe’s, as beautiful as she is deadly, the best at everything she does…. and she does a lot.
