After learning that Savitar is the real Supergirl’s father, Barry and Cisco decide to travel to the future to stop Savitar from killing her parents with the help of his old friend, the Elongated Man. Meanwhile, after Iris is taken captive by the Thawne, Christopher and Wally find out that there are a lot of things from the future that they never realized.

After an unfortunate incident with the Harrison Wells speed force portal, Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker) and Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) were both stuck in a coma. When Caitlin was finally able to wake up, she found that Barry was now stuck in her body. Caitlin tries to find a way to fix this, but in the meantime she must deal with her new life in Barry’s body.

It’s strange to imagine the beginning of a new episode of Flash without Cisco’s involvement. But in Masquerade, they managed to introduce some comedy and drama to get us excited. In this episode, we hear what happens to Cecile when Chester moves to the S.T.A.R. labs. Laboratories. Image via The CW word-image-11674 Chester decorates the lab with verve, installing his own equipment and adding photos of famous people, including Tupac and Martin Luther King, Jr. However, the poor man soon finds himself in the awkward position of having to catch Barry and Iris starting their own family. Of course, things quickly take a different turn. After Barry visits Cecile, she uses her powers to send him to the same realm of consciousness as the real Cecile. She had been locked in a padded cell since the night of the storm two weeks ago. word-image-4010 Meanwhile, in the real world, the team with the help of Cecile discovers that the golden mask is responsible for Barry’s comatose state after he lost consciousness following the attack. The mask is trying to find a new host, but maybe they can help Barry with that. In reality, Cecile is trying to get the mask for her own gain. To get the mask out of the museum, Chester enlists Sue Deerbone to strengthen it. They are able to come up with a plan that seems too simple for Sue. But Chester is convinced their plan will work. But when the plan is carried out, Iris realizes that the Cecile she knew is not the real Cecile. Having been cheated, Chester becomes discouraged and begins to doubt his abilities. He admits to Iris that he tried to look like Cisco, but because he doesn’t have the connections Cisco had with Team Flash, he overlooked the fact that Cecile isn’t who he thinks she is. Iris tries to help him by reminding him that he is also a part of them and that Cisco didn’t get close to them overnight. Image via The CW word-image-11675 In a conversation with Iris, Chester learns that the mask may be using Cecile as a host, but that she needs a power source to sustain her spirit. It would actually be a thinking chair. Meanwhile, Barry and Cecile are in Cecile’s head as she tries to escape from the sanctuary. To save herself, Cecile must go through a tragic period in her life. After her mother’s death, Cecile became depressed due to the guilt of not caring for her and was eventually admitted to a psychiatric hospital. Barry knows she can fight and confront her past to get out of the prison she’s in. Eventually, Cecile manages to fight the mask holding her hostage, allowing her to escape with Barry, while Iris and Chester defeat the mask as well. After Barry wakes up and Cecile returns to her normal life, Team Flash meets to confer before Cy invites them to a late dinner at his hotel. But Cecile decides to go home to talk to Joe. He is stunned by this revelation, but also knows how difficult it can be to talk about mental health. After a touching moment between them, Cecile asks him about the ongoing investigation into Christine Kramer. He tells her that he discovered she was on a mission and apparently led her entire team into an ambush. Joe believes she was actually working with her enemies and not capturing them. His investigation of Kramer is in full swing, and although we miss him in the captain’s chair, we know he’s a detective at heart and won’t stop until he gets what he needs to stop them. Image via The CW word-image-11676 Danielle Nicolet really shined in this episode, and we loved that she was the centerpiece of the episode. Getting to know Cecile has always been a pleasant experience, and it gives us a new perspective on a character we’ve grown to love over the years. What do you think of this episode?
